• At Restoration Hardware they’re selling electric bug paddles for under $15. I almost bought a bouquet of them to pass out to all my Domme friends but then realized I’d have a helluva time transporting it on my bike.
  • He stopped by to pick up a bag he’d inadvertently left after a party. My friend Mistress Crimson was with me at the studio. I sat him down and tied him, still dressed, to the chair and continued my conversation with Crimson while I singletailed his chest with my Coyote whip. Just ’cause I knew I could. That he would take it. He did.
  • After my post on Max Fisch about mentoring by independent Dominas, I’m thinking about finally offering a public class on the business of professional domination. I’ve collected some really valuable advice over the years on how to manage my business. Kinda seems like information that’s more useful in the long run than another class on how to throw a singletail. Any other suggestions on classes that I might want to think about teaching based on your knowledge of me?
  • I’d dropped by L’Oeil Cache yesterday and spent some time chatting with my Domme friends there as they got ready for their sessions. It’s been a long time since I’ve been in that environment. I didn’t realize how much I missed it. And not just for the casual eddy of women in various states of deshabille, though that was a pleasure too.
  • Will someone please get Miss Victoria X to post on her blog? I miss that li’l vixen’s clawed wit.
  • I love my bicycle.
  • Why is it that at the Horses exhibit at the Museum of Natural History last Sunday, I was only interested in the whips, crops, and hardware? I even made a note to look up the “Buzkashi Riding Whip” and see if I could find one on Ebay.
  • Been at a loss lately w/r/t blog post ideas. I’m taking requests. Muse, anyone?

  • Watching that scene was hot.

    I’m still daydreaming about all of the lovely, lovely noise.

  • Re your comment “Been at a loss lately w/r/t blog post ideas. I’m taking requests. Muse, anyone?”

    This is surely an interesting invitation which rates as highly as your “Whence kinky?” post. This received a huge amount of responses as you clearly touched a nerve with your fellow enthusiasts.

    Maybe this next question would produce a similar level of interest? How ’bout “Submisson or submissive?” There’s a big difference and I for one would be curious to hear your views on such people as indeed I would from other enthusiasts.

    I’m a switch but I’ll submit and submit totally ‘all the way’ without question to a domme who demonstrates that they know what they are doing. If I get an inking that they are anything else other that the ‘real deal’ then it doesn’t work for me. Does that therefore mean that I am ‘topping from the bottom’? I like to think that it doesn’t but maybe I’m wrong. I genuinely enjoy submitting to someone who can truly ‘top’. Anyone can hurt someone, that’s easy, but topping physically and intellectually, that’s a different gig altogether. When I ‘give it up”, I need to know that the person I’m ‘giving it up to’ understands what that’s all about and what to do with it (if anything).

    From my own experiences as a top, true submissives submit immediately no matter what, for that is what they crave. For me, I’ll submit only when I know/feel that the top has ‘got what it takes’ (sometimes its just a look).

    When it comes to power (exchange or otherwise), true power is never ‘given’, its ‘taken’. My own experience of such matters is that the true submissive gives it up the moment a session has started. With the people who just like to submit (like myself on occasion) they like/need to have the power ‘taken from them’ by the real (or imagined) power of the person who’s topping them. The ‘tops’ are either real or pretenders.
    Are we talking about semantics here? Are we talking about ‘topping from the bottom’ or are the lines blurred between the two?

    A good example of this was the scene we did with your good friend and my spanking sub ‘Lyssa’. Lyssa is a very experienced spankee and very sniffy about how she’s handled. She can spot a fake at 10,000 paces. Your good friend took control of her within thirty seconds of making eye contact and put her through her paces. Lyssa is not a submissive but she wants/needs to submit….to the right person. You’ve ‘got it’ as well Troy (though I know you don’t structure your play around this dynamic…you don’t need to) and your friend has it.

    Maybe this is a possible item of interest for your blog? Is the person who likes to submit (as opposed to the true submissive) ‘topping from the bottom’?

  • I think that MVX might be a lost cause. Even Monkey-Pest couldn’t get her to post. My diagnosis: either a new boy toy or a sugah daddy.

    Blog idea: how about the worst session ever?

  • Miss Orleans,

    I do hope that MVX resurfaces soon. She posts some good stuff. Also, Mistress Yin! I really enjoy reading her stuff and her blog (that you link to) has been kind of quiet. I doubt that means that she’s been quiet!!

    I recall a night a few months ago when we spent the better part of the evening with me tied to a chair and you casually (and sometimes intensely) singletailed me as we did a sort of truth or dare with questions of each other. Fun stuff!!! I’m not sure which of us learned more about the other that night, but, damn, it was a great night.

    How about that “In Praise Of The Masochist” entry you were talking about recently? Anything I can do to help you move that one along? You know where to find me!!!

    You’re the best.

    Yours,

    Whizzer

  • The whips that the Afghan riders use for goat polo are directly descended from the whips mongol horsemen have used for centuries since before Genghis Khan. The modern day version is usually referred to as a quirt. The whips that barrel riders use in American rodeos are similar also. If I am not mistaken, quirts are available from a variety of purveyors of quality BDSM gear. An authentic Afghan horseman’s whip might be hard to find. None on eBay at present. They are handed down. The popper straps at the end tend to require replacing regularly but the decorated handle that you see them grip in their teeth can last a few generations.

    Inch for inch, an expertly wielded quirt can pack quite a wallop in a BDSM context. Riders are not hurting the horses with them even though they are considered to be very effective equine accelerators. But in an S&M setting, a quirt can be coiled, carried in a regular handbag or large pocket, taken out at an opportune moment, used to inflict some righteous pain, and then put away again quite quickly and easily. A very handy and versatile item indeed.

  • Re: blogger ideas – it seems most bdsm blogs eventually run out of steam, how often can you write about whipping someone?

    I do like the part of Mistress Yin’s website where she has subs write about their sessions ( at least I THINK other people are writing about them, I’m not entirely convinced it isn’t her). Its a different perspective and they don’t seem to be the canned reviews that every Rapture domme has plastered over the review session of Maxfisch. So much is written from the Domme’s point of view, its nice to see it from the other end of the whip.

    Maybe get some of your clients to write something like that?

  • On the first day of a 2-week trail through Rajahstan, I visited Delhi’s Red Mosque. At the exit, among the various trinkets offered for sale to the tourists, was an awesomely mean-looking aged red leather whip. I thought “never buy on the first day, particularly as it would mean my carrying it all along. If it is available here, it must be fairly common, I will find others”, and abstained. Ha-ha… If my ass is black and blue, it is not because of a session, it is because I have been kicking myself ever since.
    How about contributing some “best thing that never happened” stories?

  • Gotta love a domme on a bike! Ya know my fantasy about bikes and dommes in black leotards and real trains!

    My dear friend Claudia, who I shilled for on Max today (my idea, her permission mind you) had this amazingly cool pink girl bike with wide white wall tires. She had a pink helmet. She rode it to Arena the first time we met two years ago in August. After our thing I watched her pedal away down Broome Street, weaving among the rush hour cars.

    I once got to push the bike for her as we talked one early January just before she left on her great adventure. I was just a schoolboy in love.

    I love that you love your bike!

  • @crimson, axe
    I love those organic SM moments. Thanks to both of y’all for your help in making it possible.

  • @STS
    Well, jeez, babe, you kinda wrote the post for me right there. Speaking of which, why don’t you have a blog?

    FWIW, I believe I prefer to have someone submit, rather than be submissive. It’s sorta the difference, in my mind, between a toddler and an infant. Submissives are a lot of work!

    @LMPest
    Worst session ever, huh? Is that emotionally painful? Comedy of errors? Or just plain ol’ disgusting?

  • @LMPest
    Think I’ll past on writing about my worst sessions here, now that I think about it. Though this one and this (although light on details) definitely rank.

  • @whizzer
    You are just itchin’ for me to talk about you, aren’t ya?

    @garrett
    Ooh. Thanks for the research. I like quirts a lot, though I don’t have a good one of my own, unfortunately. Need to work on that.

    @nycsub
    Actually, I can write about whipping someone a lot. I just don’t know how many times anyone wants to READ about it. 😀

    I like your idea of, well, stealing Yin’s idea and having my clients write their interpretation of events. Not as a review so much as a … recounting? There are one or two clients in particular I’d love to charge with that task (yes, JezW, I’m thinking of you) though, guys, if any of you want to write about our sessions for me to post on my blog, you’re welcome to submit your work to me (via email, please) and I’ll pick the ones I like and post them.

    FTR, those accounts by slave7 on Yin’s blog are written by him. I’m sure of it.

    @philber
    I do miss you when you’re gone.

    And I’m kicking you too for passing on that whip. Dammit!

    Not sure about “best thing that never happened” stories. I am too much of a practical realist (aka capricorn) to wax nostalgic over what might have beens. I think.

    @advochasty
    My bike’s on the urban slick side. I’m always getting compliments on it. It’s a Trek 7.5 hybrid in graphite. I had my first accident on it a few weeks ago — skinned up my elbow real good — but I think that actually made me love her more.

  • No need for you to work on it (obtaining a quirt). May I please do that for you? I will communicate with you further via email regarding this. It would be a pleasure and a privilege.

  • @MTO

    I’m baaaaaaack! Just to prove Louie Monkey-Pest wrong, really. 😛

    @LM-P

    Neither. Just a case of summer sloth. Glad I was missed.

  • This blog must be the cross-roads of the world, at least the bdsm part of it. Mention that Mistress Yin or MVX have stopped posting and VIOLA in 24 hours they are back at it again. What power you have.
