Someone recently posted on MaxFisch asking why dommes travel for sessions. I replied that I haven’t been traveling as much since setting up Salon d’Orleans, but that there are still plenty of places I’ve been meaning to go. Since then, I’ve been thinking about all those places — Richmond, Va., Virginia Beach, St. Louis, Chicago, Boston, Baltimore, Philadelphia, D.C., Charlotte/Raleigh/Durham, NC — to name a few.
I like travel sessions. Back when I was doing it regularly, I’d whittled my travel kit to key gear (gloves, lube, single tail, 150 ft of 5mm rope, clothespins, tea lights, small vibe, ball gag, TENS unit w pads and rings, wee pads). I figured out how to pervert the most generic hotel room (laundry bags make great underlayers for towels when doing wet play, desk chairs are my best friends, and let’s not forget ice tongs!).Ā I had this whole routine where I’d show up in a city around noon, check into a hotel, take my first appointment around 2pm, session until 10pm, then go again from, like, 10am-10pm the next day, and 9am-noon the following day.
It’s not that I was playing the WHOLE time, but most cities kept me pretty busy. I’ve never really had a high volume business like some dommes I’ve known but when I travel I get a taste of what it must be like. I also tend to accept scenes that I’d normally turn down when at home — such as humiliation play, role play, T&D,Ā ball busting, and other stuff that’s not really centered on bondage/corporal. Given that my travel scenes usually have a one hour, instead of two hour, minimum, I found I could comfortably explore play that I don’t necessarily want to base my practice on but that still have a certain allure.
Over the years I’ve been surprised at the cities that I do really well in (e.g. Boston) and disappointed by the ones I can rarely seem to make work (e.g. LA, SF, LV). It also cracks me up when I come across a city that seems like it’d be way underdeveloped, only to find the players there unexpectedly very advanced (would you think the guys in Richmond, VA would be needle and sounds enthusiasts? I certainly didn’t!).
I’m hoping I can carve out some time in the beginning of the year to do some travel scenes again. All this talk about it has whetted my appetite for it. If you’re reading this in a city you’d like me to travel to, please feel free to let me know. Even better if you can include suggestions on where I might promote my trips in your city (i.e. where do you look to find the dommes visiting your area?).
Favorite hotel pervertibles:
a) the generic hotel ottoman (lashed face down or face up, it’s a convenient mini-bondage bed)
b) the glass bedside table top protectors (such enjoyable meals spat from her mouth, slurped no handed from this easily cleaned surface)
c) the free smell good lotion (great for foot service)

In reality, i think many of these unexpected cities have kinksters just waiting for Dommes to visit. Or just waiting for the scene to appear there.
Las Vegas people are always scared about LE, San Fran usually has enough of a scene going on that it need not worry about anything.
LA, well granted I’m a big of you here, overall the scene is pretty well-adjusted and doesn’t always welcome visitors.
I love it when traveling Dommes come by so I can help them out in whatever way I can. I wish I could be a traveling sub though
hmmm… was actually looking here in hopes there was some traveling in your future. I’d certainly like to put in a vote for the DC area (rockville/bethesda and i wouldn’t stand a chance of missing it). Always loved your session options. Any traveling Orleans experience or do you need to get to all your fans? š
